Oxenhope 1st Xi 191 All out Lost to Thornton 1st XI 192 for 4

A crazy mix up between the two Oxenhope openers resulting in a run out set the scene for a disastrous start to the game as the visitors were reduced to 13 for 6, with Bradley Wetherhead the taking 4 of the top order . Joe Ousey & Duncan Tetley finally steadied the ship and built a remarkable recovery as Ousey powered his way to 97 & Tetley 48 before they both fell to Ross Parr. A late flurry of 18 not out from Tom Marshall was the only other double figure contribution in what turned out to be a respectable total of 191.  With the extra overs gifted to them the League leaders batted steadily to ensure victory , Ben Burkill batting through for 70 not out. Joel Fothergill was again in the wickets taking two of the four to fall.

Oxenhope 2nd XI 164 for 1 Beat Stones 2nd Xi 163 All Out

A comfortable 9 wicket win for the 2nd XI against a 10 man Stones team. Put in to bat the visitors youthful openers could not make any impression on Hamzah Khan who conceded just 9 runs in his opening 7 over spell . Luke Fleetwood was more expensive but snapped up 3 wickets . The stones innings faltered as Robbie Carling & Rohid Ali both took wickets with their first delivery, but Jonas Webster(64) & Nick Mosey(28) gave the bowlers something to work with as the score advanced to 163 before they were all out. This was never likely to be enough & the Stones youngsters found Brendan Ellison making a welcome return to form with a sparkling 77 not out, at the other end newcomer Alex Blenard showed what a good acquisition he was hitting 64 before being out shortly before the total was passed.
